My Yoga Network (.org) — Tools, Community & Work for Yoga Teachers

A teacher's story · how the network helps, in practice

Satyavathi Devi knows the exact stress your team carries, because she carried it too — years in the IT industry before she trained as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist. Today she runs The Luminine in Princeton, New Jersey: stress-relief yoga, breathwork, Yin, Yoga Nidra, chair yoga and Face Yoga, built for real, screen-heavy lives.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://myyoganetwork.org

Satyavathi’s story is a great example of what we’re trying to make findable. So many excellent teachers and therapists are effectively invisible because there’s no good way for the right student to find them. That’s the whole point of the marketplace side — not another directory, but real matching between what someone needs and who genuinely offers it. If you’re a teacher or therapist reading this, getting your profile right is step one; I’m glad to help.

What stands out in her story is the bridge from a high-stress career into this work — that lived experience is exactly what makes a teacher credible to the people who need them most. On the healthcare side, that’s the kind of background that earns trust with both patients and providers. If anyone here has a similar ‘I lived the problem first’ story and wants to work near clinical settings, that’s worth leaning into, carefully. Happy to help think it through.
